Bad Blogger
Well looky here...My name is Steve, and I'm a bad blogger. The last blog post was in April. Many, many good things with Washed in Black have transpired since then, so let me give you a recap. So many shows, so many new friends, and the vibe just gets better every day.
Our partnership with Jar of Flies (The Ultimate Alice in Chains Experience) and Outshined ( a Tribute to Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog) got solidified when we toured together to Montana and Idaho back in July. What a kick ass group of guys. We are collectively known as The Best of the NW and we've got big plans for you all down the road. Please stay tuned.
Last week WiB had the good fortune of playing the Alaska Airlines Hometown Hangar stage outside Century Link field at the Seattle Seahawks Season opener. This event was sponsored by KZOK and we were honored to get some tasty radio plugs and even a short spot on KIRO 7's newscast for the day.
2 Weeks ago the Best of the Northwest put together a last minute show to support our dear friends, Mike and Soni Murray with the closing of their venue, Sound Check Bar & Grill.. One of the finest establishments I've ever played and it is a true shame that they had to shut there doors due to an unreasonable landlord and other economic issues that are all too prevalent in today's live music scene. Mike and Soni are some of the best people I know and I'm proud that we were able to contribute to one last successful weekend.
This past weekend (I know, I'm all over the place) we celebrated our drummer, Kevin's birthday all weekend long with a killer show at Canoe's Cabaret at Tulalip Casino on Friday and then we headed up north to Ferndale to rock the Main Street Bar & Grill. A very successful weekend. Lots of merch sold and more money generated for our favorite charity, Strong Against Cancer.
We are currently working on some new material and have some a full schedule ahead to round off the year. Thanks very much for all your support and I promise to be more active with the blog and band updates.
