Well looky here...My name is Steve, and I'm a bad blogger. The last blog post was in April. Many, many good things with Washed in Black have transpired since then, so let me give you a recap. So many shows, so many new friends, and the vibe just gets better every day.
Our partnership with Jar of Flies (The Ultimate Alice in Chains Experience) and Outshined ( a Tribute to Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog) got solidified when we toured together to Montana and Idaho back in July. What a kick ass group of guys. We are collectively known as The Best of the NW and we've got big plans for you all down the road. Please stay tuned.
Last week WiB had the good fortune of playing the Alaska Airlines Hometown Hangar stage outside Century Link field at the Seattle Seahawks Season opener. This event was sponsored by KZOK and we were honored to get some tasty radio plugs and even a short spot on KIRO 7's newscast for the day.
I've been falling behind on keeping this blog current. Sorry to anyone who actually might be reading this stuff. Anyway, casinos. That's what I'm talking about. In just under a year of Washed in Black's existence we managed to book and rock the big stage at 7 Cedars Casino in Sequim, WA. For all intents and purposes it was a big success. One of the guests, a self proclaimed "Biggest Pearl Jam Fan Ever" told me we made his year...He and his wife traveled a couple hours from Forks, WA just to watch us play. We may have made their year, but they made my night. Great times all around and I really gotta give it to the 7 Cedars staff and crew! Thanks for making us feel welcome!
Next up...that's right! Another casino gig! We are very excited to rock Canoes Cabaret at Tulalip Resort Casino in Marysville, WA on April 15th. We're gonna leave it all on the stage for this one.
We will also be playing a short acoustic set on April 16th in support of...
Wow...Last Saturday's show at the High Dive was incredible. A huge thank you to our friends in Outshined - a Tribute to Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog for sharing the bill with us. You guys rock and warmed the room up nicely for us. Rane Stone (Who the F#ck is Rane Stone) even jumped up on stage and did a couple of Alice in Chains song befor WiB took the stage!
The crowd was amazing! The energy was felt all throughout Fremont, I'm sure! By far our best sing along participation to date! Check out our mash up video of Daughter / Another Brick in the Wall so you can feel what I'm talking about. Good stuff!
Next up is Washed in Black with SilverGun at the Rose Hill Hideout in Kirkland, WA on March 26th! Hope to see you there!
We've got big plans for 2016! Next shows coming up are 2/6/15 at Finaghty's Irish Pub in Snoqualmie with with Jar of Flies and Outshined. It was so good in November that we're doing it again...and again. After that we're at the High Dive in Fremont on 2/13/15 with Outshined.
We recently had personnel change with our McCready position. Joe Farkas had to focus on some personal matters and we wish him all the best and are thankful for his contributions. Michael Daly is our new guy and he's an amazing player....we won't miss a step. Welcome aboard Michael!
Like I said, this year looks amazing so far. Dan has been going to town on booking and we've got some big things in the pipeline. Stay tuned!
Washed in Black is excited to announce our next couple shows! First, we're hosting an acoustic night at Fuel Sports Bar in Pioneer Square with SilverGun. All of your favorite 90's era Seattle music will be covered....unplugged! More details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/635670119908991/
It doesn't get much better than that! Two back to back nights with Jar of Flies (Ultimate Alice in Chains Tribute) and Outshined (Soundgarden & Temple of the Dog Tribute) at Louie G's in Fife on Friday and Sound Check Bar & Grill in Lynwood. Both spots packed to the gills. Sound Check reported their most attended weekend ever and for all intents and purposes a very successfull weekend for all.
To top it all off we had a great number of canned food donations at Louie G's and we raised $700 for Strong Against Cancer.
Washed in Black is very excited to be teaming up with Jar of Flies (Alice in Chains tribute) and Outshined (Soundgarden tribute) for two back to back shows on Friday, November 13th at Louie G's in Fife and then Soundcheck Bar & Grill in Lynnwood on Saturday, November 14th. We will be bringing the best of the 90's Seattle sound. These guys are no joke and spot on. We are honored to share the bill with them. Tickets are going fast. Click the links to RSVP on Facbook:
